Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

NC State took care of business and advanced. Houston needs to knock off Duke to have a dream match up that harkens back to the 1983 final.

We spent about 5 hours cleaning up the mess the roofers left behind on the pool deck. They scratched and dented up the built in grill, and left a bunch of shingle asphalt melted to the white pool deck that won’t come off. Power washer didn’t do a thing. Wife is really unhappy. The good/bad thing is we are buying a new grill tomorrow (been wanting a new one for a while).

Wind was gusting to 40mph, so no riding today anyway.

You got Brewers vs Mets at Citi field. First pitch is 1:40 Eastern time. Sounds like morning baseball.

The deck is textured like drag and drop drywall texture, so the tar is in the texture. I’m going to let the roofing company fix it. I still control about $25k of the cost so there is that.

Rainy morning in San Diego. I might try a 81 km Zwift race in a little bit ... would probably be a 2 hr power record lol. We'll see.

Getting ready to do my first lawn mowing of the year. That’s 25 minutes that I’ll never get back.

Funny you should ask Doug about '78. Reminds me I was forced to buy a magic shovel of my own in 1978 to dig out of my parking spot following the famous blizzard of that year. There were very few places you could go in the city without being able to dig into a new parking spot, and for that the shovel was indispensable. Good times.

Active recovery rides are about as exciting as an electric wheel chair with a dead battery.

Heh heh heh don't let him rile you, he's just trash-talking, trying to add a little diversity to the bicycling and car talk around here. I'm all for it, myself.

I like to do it on Zwift and multi task on my PC. Check work email, do some light chores that don't require too much typing, or just watch something on youtube.

In May that will be me, except checking emails will be learning flows and other airbus shenanigans.
