WTB: 650b wheel or wheelset
I'm still trying to decide on a frameset for this project, so there are a number of variables... meaning I might be interested in any of the following:
-A 650b wheelset w/130mm spacing in the rear... any rim... generator front a plus
or
-A 650b front wheel w/generator hub and Synergy rim or similar
or
-A 650b rear wheel w/130mm spacing and a Synergy rim or similar
Budget is on the lower side. I am aware of the ebay "uglyrm" option. Thanks for any ideas!

@Tim_Iowa loaned me a pair of Synergy/Phil 650B wheels a while back when I was contemplating a switch. Might see if he's interested in parting with them.
(Non-generator, though.)

FWIW, I started with a ZAC 19/Shimano 2200 set from uglyrm, and they held up great for me for about 1500 miles of lightly-loaded touring (and I'm #225 to start). That set is now on my daughter's bike, and I'm on my second hand-built set (PL23 rims to VO Grand Cru rear and Shimano 3N80 front dynamo hubs).

I'd go for the uglyrm option. I have Weinmann ZAC19 rims on my Holdsworth, and they seem fine. I've heard rumors of tires being hard to seat, but I haven't had any more trouble with these than with the Velocity rims I had for a while (bought from one BF member, sold to another).

If you're used to mounting tires on Synergy rims, then the ZAC19s may not seem that bad -- because Synergy rims are tough to seat tires on as well.
Both rims have the same problem: the well of the rim is too deep and allows a bead to settle down there instead of popping into the bead seat on the rim.
My Pacenti PL23 rims are much easier to seat a tire on. That may be due to the tubeless design; tubeless-compatible rims have precise, shallow rim wells to keep the tire near the bead seat. It definitely makes it easier to get floppy, supple tires to seat properly.

Ah! Good to know. I guess, being a cheapskate, my standards are low.
