Casual bike specific shorts
When I'm not wearing a lycra kit, which is most of the time, I wear worn out shorts from the Gap. I'd like something with a little stretch that doesn't cram my junk in positions my junk don't wanna be junk'n.
Whats out there aside from rapha and chrome? The randonees are sharp looking but I'd rather not drop $140 on a pair of shorts.

I have 4 pairs. (though the current colors suck).
There is also a liner-less version, but I like the liner.
But they have regular pockets, and a zipper pocket that I keep my phone in while riding.

I'm hard pressed to find a replacement for my Zoic MTB shorts (with liner of your choice). I've also seen recumbent shorts that I've been meaning to try such as, Expedition Recumbent Shorts & Intrepid DH Recon Jet Black Shorts

I wear these for casual rides. I have a pair of these that are about 9 years old now, and aside from a slight bit of fading, they are still in great condition. I wore them in to the Lulu store to see if they had more of that exact style. The girl working was blown away by the age and condition of mine. 9 years for $60 shorts? That is a steal.

i wear smartwool undies with dickies that i cut off about 3" above the knee every single day. rides from 5 miles to 70 miles with no problems. wore them from friday morning til sunday night. wool is naturally antimicrobial and the dickies are tough as nails.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll try cutting some dickies. I've also ordered some 511 commuter pants from an ebay vendor at a great discount, I'll be cutting those down too.

I have some super plain, black Fox mountain biking shorts with inoffensive logos (no small feat with Fox stuff) Two pairs I rotate between both exactly the same and a few pairs of Pearl Izumi liner shorts. Have worn these on multi-day tours and they work great. Wish they were a little slimmer in the leg. A little baggy mountain bike style for my taste.
Have some lululemons like the above that I run and hike in. Don't think I'd want to ride as they feel sorta too light but to each his own.
Those Vulpine's above look great but without knowing how they fit, seems like pain in the ass to order from Britain.

LOL, Lululemon is a cult. All my casual riding shorts are just the top half of my old jeans. Main pair currently in use is Levi's something or other. They're a little stretchy.

Chrome makes a few different shorts. They're a bit pricey but really durable. I wear them all summer.

Pearl Izumi Canyon shorts. Great value, durable, don't look bikey at all. Even have belt loops. And the included padded short liners are great, but I usually take them out. Mostly I wear Champion tech fabric boxer/briefs under baggy shorts. Good enough for most rides up to 50 miles unless it's really muggy weather.
