Houseboy told me to tell you he'll be waiting outside his trailer at 9:00 with a bottle of Night Train Express and box of leftover Valentine's Day Candy from WalMart. Be there.

thankyou, Blackberry! You kept your promise! Now, why do you two only show up once a year?

Once a year is too often for Houseboy.

And it is too often for Blackberry too, if he is always going to bring Houseboy along with him!

However thinketh not that "Blackberry" shows up but once a year.

Blackberry took it easy on our eyes with a tiny thumbnail image. Believe me, he has possession of a much larger image, and it isn't pretty.

Ouch! I'm still confused. solveg calls out for Pool Boy and gets House Boy? I need some history, as I'm sure many who have been here less than a full year do. Tell all!

I got confused. I was thinking Pool Boy from the old Mad Magazine TV Show. But it was always Houseboy. I don't know the history of Houseboy! All of a sudden, Blackberry showed up and everyone started retching and saying "houseboy". I was deeply intrigued, but they told me I had to wait until April Fools to see him.

Anyway, I just got back from my date with Houseboy, and I feel like a changed woman.

Solveg, I was going to tell you all about the legend of Blackberry and Houseboy, but you are creating an epic that dwarfs all in comparison and leaves me......speechless.

(I do hope you used protection....however you define the word.)

Thank you, Tom Bombadil, and thank you Blackberry. Kudos to Houseboy for having the balls to display them in such fashion. The world is a far, far better place for the fact of having eccentric characters in it, and I will surely sleep better tonight for the fact of having witnessed this instance of freedom in action.

I suspect that the only thing which could make me happier right about now would be to see Houseboy ride a chopped bicycle, resplendent with hi-rise handlebars and extended forks, through the middle of a trailer park, smiling and waving happily at the rednecks he was riding past.

Now please excuse me whilst I go wash my mouth out with warm, soapy water for having used the terms 'trailer park' and 'rednecks' rather than 'caravan park' and 'bogans' respectively. I'm aware the terms used befit the moment better, but I still feel somewhat shabby for having said them!

OK, but you might be disappointed. The legend is so much better than the reality. Here, to the best of my knowledge is the first thread in which houseboy appeared (Somehow, you knew Digital Gee would be wrapped up in this.)

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...light=houseboy

Then, on rare occasion, when it appeared people needed the opaque glaze taken off of their corneas, houseboy would make an appearance. Based on the wailing and gnashing of teeth his visage inspired, it didn't seem fair to inflict him more than once a year, So a committee (made up of Blackberry and myself) decided that April 1 was the one-and-only day.

As far as Blackberry is concerned, he got involved with some rough characters (including the ill-fated Diego brothers) and decided to hightail it into the witness protection program. Rumor has it that he is living quietly in Indiana as the curator of the Dan Quayle Museum.

What's amazing is that that thread is almost a year old, and DG just* made it to the grocery store about a month ago!
