Advice on Cannondale F-700 CAD2 purchase

I got some great advice here last month about a Trek 4300 I was looking at, and I'm still in the market for a bike. I was hoping you could offer some suggestions about another one I'm looking at. Someone is offering a Cannondale F-700 CAD2 for $400. (I'm going to attempt to attach a picture of it, but can't guarantee I'll figure that one out). It looks to be dark blue? in color. Does anyone know what year it might be, and what a good offer would be?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe mid-90's. Probably first generation Head-Shok . Probably not air-sprung. I have no other input. It's an old bike. Maybe $200. Or less.

I had one of these as my first hardtail, and used it as my all-around bike for several years until it got stolen. Its headshock was an elastomer one (no air) with limited adjustability and no lockout, but it worked OK for XC riding. It worked fine for me, but then I didn't do anything extreme on it.
Although obsolete by modern MTB bike standards, it's lightweight so it's a good climber. I would agree that $400 is a bit high unless it's in nearly new condition.

Cannondale made CAD 2s from 1994-1997. The frame of the F700 is super-light and can be built up as a sub 20-lb bike!

Is the F-7 the replacement of the f-700? if it is i think it sells for like 600, so that gives you an idea for new price.....Down Wind in marquette carries Cannondale- but im sure any bike shop would be able to help you with the value on the F-700
