Help: What Groupo is this from? Found Campagnolo Cassette

Hey Forum,

My GF found a campagnolo cassette while walking the dog. I haven't been able to figure out what groupset its from. Facts:

-10 cogs, size 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25
- lock ring doesn't say 'made in italy'

It's above Veloce since Veloce has all 10 as individual full plate cogs and the one you show has the largest three grouped together on a spider. If the largest cogs are Ti, it's Record. If they are steel, it's Chorus or Centaur.

If the larger sprockets are titanium, then it's a Record cassette, if they're steel like all the others then it's a Chorus.

thanks for the feedback.... im pretty sure the last two cogs are of the same material as the others. i guess its chorus, not record but still pretty good for free.

so now i have to buy a new bike to build around the cassette

Srupid question. How do you find a high end cassette just lying around?

Centaur from 2007-2008 since only the two largest cogs are on an aluminum carrier and Campagnolo did not make an 11-25 before that.

Chorus would have the six largest cogs on aluminum carriers. Record would be the same plus the four largest would be Titanium. Record Titanium is the same but eliminates all the steel cogs. In the other direction Veloce and current Centaur have all loose cogs.

Thanks for the extra clarification Drew.

FBinNY - I wonder the same thing... it was garbage day, but my gf said it wasn't in the garbage but in the grass near a box of stuff for the garbage. So it appears the guy was throwing it out, unless he was carrying it at the same time as taking out the garbage and accidentally dropped it. Regardless my immediate next question to my gf... 'was there any other bike parts in the box!?' sadly she said no. Maybe I should go back to the house and ask he if has an old Rene Herse he's thinking about tossing.

I was at a bike shop, and they were throwing out a nice vintage 531 bike with old Shimano Dura-Ace and tubular wheels ..... I happily gave them $20 for it.

Might be worn enough for shop to not re sell..

FWIW, Campagnolo has an outsourced factory too,
that would be why it doesn't say made in Italy,
Because it's not.
