1984 Specialized Sequoia
Picked this up a while back. Sat in my garage foe several months with a frozen seat post.
Finally took it to a local shop and they were able to get it loose. Looks to be all original
Rode it in 30 degree weather for a couple blocks. Rides nice but needs a tune up. Frame is
in very nice shape. It's a tad big for me at 60 cm but I can ride it it ok I'm just more comfortable
on 56-58 cm. Any idea what its worth?

You could check out completed sales in eBay and adjust downwards for a local sale or a bike forums sale. That will will sell fast on BF but you'll have to join to be a member (I think $10 a year plus no ads). There is a specialized expedition for sale now if you look in the C&V for sale forum at $1k but it hasn't moved. I think that price is too high; at that price you can pick up a quality British sports touring bike or even a custom US sports touring bike and those are more collectible. I'd value this at $500-$600.

One of the few C&V drop bar bikes that has become more desirable (imo) in the past couple years. I'd say 400-500. They're pretty hyped and very nice but they're not thaaat special.

In NW OH, I don't see it getting the prices above, on ebay, maybe. What you bought it for is a guide. Did you spot it immediately or privately, or was it posted publicly and up for a few days. That will give you an insight into the local market. In my local market, I am often the ONLY buyer of the nicer vintage stuff. Short of selling it to myself, the local market is not there. So my options are sell it via a nationwide market, keeping it, or selling it at a loss.
Now if it is a private sale, or something I scoop up immediately, there may be some room for profit locally.
Theres always what it SHOULD be worth, and what someone in my market WILL pay. Typically there is a HUGE gap between those two figures.
In the case of the Sequoia, I bought one just like it locally at a very attractive price and sold it later for less than the figures above.
FWIW, there is one on ebay right now with original lever hoods and somewhat better condition for $499 or best offer. It is an asking price, no one has paid it.

Search on eBay using as few words as possible. Each additional word will eliminate some listings.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.

Drop the word bicycle. Search for specialized sequoia. As someone who has sold a lot of bicycles and bicycle parts on eBay, I have never used the word bicycle in a title.
One recently sold for $425.
