Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Survived this morning’s Clinical Neuroscience Grand Rounds without touching the pastries. Those look a LOT more tempting, though.

It was more like a hemispherical cake with buttercream frosting than a cookie though.

Thanks for the clarification. If you can supply the approximate size and weight of this item, we can submit it to the committee for a judgment on whether you are a bad person for consuming it.

The remaining "cookie" is 90mm in diameter, 35mm at it's thickest point, and 95 grams of chocolatey goodness.

I bought some at the apple orchard rest stop during my weekend trip. I ate two and gave away the rest. Not the healthiest of lunches, but I forgot to pack by sandwich when I left the house.

Mrs datlas and I were going to get a fancy coffee/espresso maker for ourselves as our anniversary present. Then the computer died and we spent the $$$ on a new desktop.

Looks like it's drip coffee for awhile longer.

Bummer. I also have put off buying a machine for awhile. First off, many take up too much space for my relatively small kitchen. Then, my wife already complains about the mess I make with my Nespresso machine. I can’t imagine the trouble that I would get into with an espresso machine.

How do you make a mess with a Nespresso? I keep a small dish under the nozzle for the drip, drip. I keep mine on the credenza (man, I love that word) in the living room.

I don’t like the liver implications of acetaminophen. So I pick a different poison. Ibuprofen or Naproxen! I’m okay now. I hope it stays that way.

Mine seems to shoot little spots all over the counter despite having the machine sitting on a plastic tray and then a place mat under that. It even occasionally leaves a spot or two BEHIND the machine on the subway tile. It's not a lot of mess but enough for me to get yelled at.

I stopped at a Dunkin' Donuts near the end of my ride for a cup but no donuts were harmed.

You all are making me hungry. and envious. I've only got marmite and cheese sandwiches for lunch. And the southerly will make it unpleasant to go and top them up with a cake.

The question IS ... which one is worse for your liver.

I'm an Ibu guy, my system laughs at acetaminophen.
