Bike Identity?

I have a friend buying what he is told is a 2017 Specialized Enduro Pro, but the picture he sent me of it doesn't appear to be a bike from recent years. Can anyone identify what this bike is, and if it has been modified?

Its not even close I don't think. Specialized in the past few years have had an interesting side window to the shock. Also the shock sits in the front triangle, not out of the rear. You can also tell its older by the brakes (side mount vs post) and the length of stem. Heck it even has a 3x. Even more comical is the posts for rim brakes. If I were to guess, mid to late 00's. Not sure make or model but thats kind of irrelevant.

Its worth like 200$. Tops, max... with cookies and ice cream.

Looks like a 2001 Enduro expert. As far as mods, it's had a Chris King headset installed (upgrade), and the XTR crankset is an upgrade over stock Spec cranks. Looks like the original Hayes hydraulic brakes have been replaced with BB7 (slight downgrade but I prefer the BB7 for ease of maintenance personally). He probably ran into some braking issues with the hydraulics stemming from hanging the bike upside down.

Here's a link to original specs https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/...spx?item=35753

There might be a catalog up on retrobike.co.uk if interested in other info

Looks like a 2001 https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/sear....aspx?id=35753
worth about $300 to $350.. Actually would be a cool retro bike to have if it still had the stock fenders that came with it.
