Mind the drool (bike porn)

It's up and running. I decided to not go with the carbon fork, and used a fork from a Cannondale frame I'm slowly building up. I'll modify it over the coming weeks, but here she is. I thought of naming her Black Orchid. Oh, she's got a pedegree too, rumour has it she's been hoing around the Twin Cities for a while now, I'm the third owner(?).
Had fun finding some of the parts the Salsa stem was a fun find as were the 46cm bars. I'll probably up the engagement ring form the 46, but she goes. I almost dropped a Ultegra crank and BB. I ran into a deal at a shop on my search for track bars. I'm going to keep looking.

no offense but why are these the most awkward pictures ever?

were you standing on your head and taking them or something? i would personally like to see the standard head on shot, hub closeup, side view, and stem profile.

it looks kind of like an after crash view, but with no damage to the bike. I know fixed riders tend to be somwhat vain but, man! Let's take it easy! the only thing that could make these pictures more over the top would be if they were in sepia toned black and white.

I don't mean to be a party pooper, and I like that bike alot, but can it actually be considered bike porn? I thought that was reserved for an elite level of nearly unrideable bikes.

No offense dude, but I thought you were joking with the title and took pictures of a abandoned bike. But it does seem like a nice bike, but hardly bike "porn" but whatever floats your boat.

Ohhhh.... time to get philosphoical! So what consitutues bike porn? In the real porn world all types, sizes, ages, colors and what have you, is porn. Is there a strict guideline as to what bike can be porn.

Basically we are "qualifying" art or porn in this case, when its really subjective; (ones mans trash is another mans treasure) . But id like to hear what others think.

yes, "one mans trash…" but i think that one can catagorize the glossy photoshop-retouched porn and lo-budget novice porn. i would say this "porn" lands in the latter classification. but i agree with the comment concerning bike porn being bikes that one would not really have the opportunity to ride.

hmmm, I'm gonna classify this as bike skinemax with shannon tweed starring. possibly a women's prison and/or automatic weapons involved. preferably someone with the last name "sedaris" at the helm as director.

I didn't want to repeat the drive side shot in the "post your ride thread." I'll get the camera out and do it up in some straight forward creative way. Maybe I can figure out how to add a pie.
