I think this is the next bike I want to get. That was I can make the Jamis a 1x9. What will come next after the SS rigid 29er fad wears off? what you really want is a 3x9 650b trials bike with ape hangers.

my friend has one of these, and man, it sucks. no offense to people who ride rigid single speed 29ers.

i will take a geared and suspended anything over that any day.

Hey, what do you know...that's what I am building right now. I'm using my 1988 steel Peugeot frame with a CX fork and a bunch of other spare parts. But the only reason I am building it is because I want something for winter commuting so I don't have to beat on my other bikes.

Just have to do a bit of welding to fix the snapped chainstay (earlier 26er SS setup damage) and relocate the rear brake bosses.

Does this count?

It's rigid, it's steel, it's a SS(well fixed) and it has 700c wheels.

Yes that absolutely counts. Freehubs are for wussies.

So what you guys really want is a fixed rear hub, brakeless, SingleSpeed, Steel, rigid 29er MTB.

Yes, but I mean on the MTB. Can't have those if you wanna be hardcore. Just a fixed hub.

There must be something to these bikes, as they sure get a lot of hate on bikeforums.net.
