Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Time Trial Bars for under $200?

I was thinking that Time Trial Bars are one of the best bang for buck purchases of reducing drag and getting aero. I was looking at Zipp, Specialized, and Bontrager bars. I was wondering if you guys knew any other good competitors that had a quality clip on pads + bars that weren't heavy.

I had Profile T1 bars with the Airstryke style hinged pads, but I just got these quick-release aero bars from Redshift because I don't actually need them most of the time. I have the carbon bars from Redshift, they are really pretty and light.

For me, the big advantage of aero bars is to give me a great position for monotonous stretches of rides.

$189:

Williams Thrust CCS Carbon Aero Bars

I converted my old aero-frame Cervelo S1 into a TT bike with these. Of course you need to buy the shifters and and brakes but you can find them used online for dirt cheap.
