Future Shock Mod?
Just purchased a Specialized Sirrus Elite Carbon and was wondering if it's possible to mod a non-Future Shock stem. It doesn't seem like it would be a big deal to add a Future Shock to a normal Specialized front stem but has anyone tried this? I emailed Specialized before buying the bike asking if they would mod it and was told they do not customize their bikes. Can anyone provide any insight on this...Class, anyone, anyone????

The FS system has nothing to do with the stem. It is a cartridge that is installed directly into/onto the steer tube, using a specially-dimensioned steer tube + collar system; the latter is used to preload the headset bearings. The stem simply clamps onto the cartridge body, not the steer tube as per usual.
Imo, trying to retrofit FS to a Sirrus Elite would be more trouble than it's worth, if it would work at all (very unlikely), and would of course utterly void any warranty. Not surprised at Specialized's response; they most certainly wouldn't agree to "mod" your bike in this way or help you to do so by supplying parts or instructions, if for no other reason than product liability.
Full disclosure: owner of a '19 Sirrus X Comp (w/FS).

If you're looking for a shock-absorbing stem, there is one available. It's called Redshift Shockstop. There are many reviews for it - google will show you several.
This might get you the result you're looking for without irrevocable changes to your bike.
