Velocals not selling Raleigh decals anymore?

@USAZorro contacted me about not hearing back from Velocals about some Raleigh decals he wanted in a custom color. I went to the website and couldn't find anything Raleigh anywhere - it used to be one of their most popular sets.

I went to an old link and tried it. This is what I got:

Cease and desist order?

Email sent to see what's up.

When I put Raleigh in the search, I got several hits, but not like I recall.

Follow-up.

Went to the VeloCals site and searched for "Raleigh"

Everything's still there except anything that says Raleigh. Carlton, International, made in England, but nothing Raleigh. Guessing none of the other were trademarked, but Raleigh is?

...the best source for Raleigh decals continues to be H Lloyd in England, but I have noticed a proliferation of Asian made Raleigh decals showing up on E-bay. Maybe it's just not worth the hassle any more ?

IIRC last time I sourced some they came from the UK... definitely look right but not all that durable.

Perhaps they were paying a licensing fee and the trademark owners raised the price beyond it's value. This same thing happens all the time with small music venues.

The German company that holds the Raleigh name is making bikes named Raleigh, so they have a bigger claim on the rights than whoever owns the Motobecane brand, for example.

C&D letter is a possibility.

FWIW Cyclomondo/Softley still has Raleigh decals listed.

UPDATE!

I received an email reply from Velocals, and @Salamandrine is correct. To be clear, they still have all the rest of the decals available - Carlton, International, etc. Look under U - V - W - United Kingdom - Page 1 - VeloCals

Because criminalizing the efforts of people who are promoting their legacy is such a sensible and productive course of action. Do MBAs ever look beyond their noses?

(edit - referring to the trademark owners, in case that isn't obvious)

I discovered this earlier this month and was this ---> <--- close to starting a thread to ask. I may have been the very last Velocals customer to purchase Raleigh decals; my order was processed at the end of April and arrived shortly afterward. I went back to the site to consider another order with different choices and I found all the Raleigh decals gone.

I'm glad I ordered when I did. I'm not anywhere near ready to use these decals, I only purchased them as a commitment to doing a fresh paint job this fall.
