Head unit display question

I just got a power meter. Its really great! I want to display the reading on my Garmin head unit but not sure what to display.

I tried the real time power number and that was just all over the place. 3 seconds was more consistent and 10 was about the same but seems long. 30 seconds I felt was way to long. Is 3 second readings where I should be displaying?

I am not a number watcher while riding normally but still want to be able to check out the numbers now and then especially when doing some good training rides.

thanks!

I use 3sec power on my intervals screen. As you said, 1s is too jumpy. 10s and 30s are fine for longer intervals like 20' sweet spot intervals, but just too much lag for shorter ones. Actually a 6 second display would be just about perfect.

Thanks that seems to be the most practical
