Helmet vent bug screens
Is Limar the only company who does these? I pretty much grew up on motorcycles and spent a lot of time with all sorts of insects in my hair and stuck to my face and neck before I decided to use helmets. I've hit every conceivable bug native to the upper Midwest and many vacation bugs as well. (mine not theirs) I won't get into flavors but I remember a few.
I like the brand but I would also consider gluing in my own bug screen material had I found a model I preferred. Does Limar have a license on this application or...?

I wish more brands would do bug screens. They seem like a no-brainer to me, and I'm surprised they aren't universal.

My first year of any serious riding, one day I just kept going deciding to do my first Century. At about 97 miles I was toast but still determined to make those last few miles. Then a bee flew through my helmet vent and stung me in the head. What luck.
Yeah, reasonable helmet vent screens could be helpful though I wonder to effectively screen out insects how much ventilation wind would also be deflected.
BTW, I finished the century with 103 miles.

Smith helmets have a honeycomb "Koroyd" layer under the vents.
The purpose is extra impact protection but many here say it has completely stopped the ingress of bees into their helmets.

Go to a beauty shop and spend $3 on a stocking hair net. Bugs won’t go through it.

Whoa! I did not know so many companies offered this feature. I think I'll look into screen like materials and see about adding a few more screens at the top of the helmet.
Many thanks,

A sweatvac skullcap does the job. Also prevents sweat from getting into your eyes at stops and sunburn through the vent holes if you have a shaven head. Keeps the helmet liner cleaner, too.

Lazer has some models with bug screens. They also make comfy winter inserts as well.
