i have gotten over 20 years out of my Suomi Nokian Studded tires , and they're still OK for many years more
It does not get snowy and icy for long here , so that bike stays parked mostly..
so when you consider how long they last that cost is spread over many winters...

I hit snow and slush a couple of times last year using my Michelin Protek Cross Max (35mm) tires. Nothing very long or technical, but for patches of snow, slush, and ice, they seemed quite sure footed.
I've seen a few sets of used studded tires pop up, but at the moment, I can normally avoid riding in the deep snow, so I've skipped them.
