Started to ride again after 30 years and got me a FXS5

Hey all.. wanted to say hello and looking forward to chewing the fat with you all. It’s been 30 years since I rode a bike ( aside from my VTwin haha) and decided on a Trek FXS 5 and was trying to upload a picture but seems I need to post a few regular posts without images so....

Congrats on the bike! I did roughly the same thing (25 year absence) and bought the FX S6. With the current Trek discount for the holiday, plus my LBS giving a small discount, the difference between the 5 and 6 was less than $100, so I went with the 6. Of course it wasn’t in stock in my size so they had to order and it won’t arrive until mid June.

She is a beauty! Fenders look very nice, are they easy to install/remove?

Well done! I bought my FXS6 9 months ago, and nearly 4,000 miles later, I’m still in love with this bike. I’ve owned many high end bikes, but this one does it all, and does it very well. Enjoy!

Welcome from down the road from you.

Nice bike, I hope you enjoy it for many many miles.

I did the same. first bike trek fx 7.3, then 8 months later a Domane 5.2, then a couple years later a Giant Defy Advanced 2.

Thanks ... they seemed easy to install but I had the Trek Store employees do it while I was there. Only thing they did out of the box was to retrofit the rear light on the fender since they didn’t have the newer ones nes with the mount for the light already installed.
