Nope, I'll be doing the Camp Pendleton Road Race the day before. It will be my first race of the season, and a good chance to see how my training has been going.

Call me uninformed/ignorant/stupid, but would one have to obtain a racing license of any sort to participate in the Cat V category of such an event?

Yes, either a $30 annual CBR or $60 annual USCF license. Sometimes, you can obtain a 1 day license at the event for a nominal fee.

Why not do both? Camp Pendleton race sounds interesting. I may try it.

After fracturing my back about 8 weeks ago, I'm not too anxious to race crits, especially flat ones, that will no doubt end in a bunch sprint. For me, this will be the anti-crit year, as I am focusing on climbing and road races, which are my strengths (or lesser weaknesses . Let me know if you're going to do Pendleton, some of us are hooking up for a ride down there, after the race.

Good luck to everyone racing at Dominguez Hills Sunday, stay safe

Sounds Good. Better to be safe and let your self heal completely. Sorry about your back.

Ok,I think I'll be up for Pendleton. I felt ok on the bike yesterday and today, after six days layoff on the bike due to work(and eating like a pig the whole week too). It'll be interesting being categorized by age groups. I'm sure I will get killed by upper cats in my age group. I will be on my Derosa.

Crit in Dominguez Hills is a game time decision.

Hey Josh- What age group are you in? Also, they start you in waves of 2 combined age groups (I'm in the 30-34 age group, but our field will be 30-39). We're going to ride around 40-60 miles after the race, you want to come along?

Yikes!I will be racing with you! Please dont hurt me. 40 miles sounds Ok, but 60 would be too much for me after the race, I think. If you have me, I'll come along. I'll will be on black Derosa with gray tires.

I'll be on a gray and blue Specialized Roubaix, wearing a Volvo/Simple Green kit. I know this is much easier said than done, but stay near the front (top 15 or so), and do whatever you have to, to hang on the climb. The climb will sort this race out, I expect a group of 10-20 to make over, with enough of a gap to last. Any attacks before the climb will fail, unless it's a team effort, or a group actually make it off the front. Watch out for all of the Tri Lords and newbs that aren't used to racing in a pack.

it will be mostly flat, one good climb half way and we should have tail winds on the return
