Remember one of my cyclist friends told me my rear tire is worn even though the wear indicators are still obvious?
He gave me a hard time about it today. “You still haven’t put a new tire on?” I said it’s too soon and plenty of tread left. He replied that I will be singing a different tune when I get a flat tire.
What a meanie!

You're tellin' me. After rain and/or ride time temps in the mid-40s, I decided the other day to HTFU and get out on a morning ride. I woke to 35° and heavy fog and waved the white flag yet again.
Finally got out today - it was a little less miserable - and was rewarded with a couple nice welts from some insects, presumably also pissed off about the weather. One, on my hip, is most certainly a bee/wasp sting. I noticed the sting, but didn't see the bee/wasp; it must have gotten caught up in the bottom of my vest. The ride was nice enough, otherwise. I think that, rather than going to pot with the light week, I've been able to recover.

I think I might have to sell my Ridley. It has 6700 on it, and after a little test ride around the block, I don't care if I never use that shifting system again.

Wasn't that the last of the side-exit shifting cables? I thought those were well-regarded. I never had issues with mine.

In other news, we have anyone here in the Charlotte, NC area? There's a possible future branch in which I actually go that way, depending what happens with AG's employer.

I did some headset fiddling and put the stock 80mm stem back on. After re-wrapping the bar tape I kind of lost interest in the bikes today
