Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ugh. Usually this illness only hits older folks with not-so-great lungs to begin with. It's a bad bug but I hope he does ok.

Too bad the bike swap didn't provide some added fuel to one rider.

On Bloomberg Radio a guy says he overheard talk at a bike store saying they're taking orders for a year from now.

Most of the bikes people around here are interested in won't be available until late fall or mid winter. Since we're about a month away from our first snowfall, that's next year for most people.

He's 66. Never met him in person. Only dealt with him over the phone.

The other question is, does the supply meet the demand, or will the market absorb this and go back to a shortage?

Well and that's how it'll be for a lot of the northern hemisphere. "Oh you can sell me a bike now, in late September? Thanks so much! That's very helpful after a summer of NOT HAVING IT."
