Recommend me a simple install long/short handlebar grip
If you remember a couple weeks back I was fuming over my handlebar grip problem on my dahon speed p8...and I said how I ordered the biologic arx grips...they came today the short grip is too $&@! long and, since the inside is hard plastic, it can't be cut....and, besides, I still can't figure this Allen wrench tightening crap when it comes to handlebar grips...they never tighten and I feel now I don't trust them...
I just want a non BS short / long set of handlebar grips. I'm just gonna burn these &$;:/&@ $€%#¥!.
Anyone got any recommendations? Preferably nothing with any Allen screws. Thanks.

You think the industry would have standardized a hole in handlebar so grips can fit on without ever slipping. The bicycle is like 200+ years old and they haven't figured out handlebar grips?
We are finished as a species. Stupid.

A hole in the handlebar? wow!
You can cut hard plastic core grips. All ya need is a mitre box and a hacksaw with a finetooth blade.
Make sure you use a metric allen wrench of the proper size for grip set screws.
If you wanna skip the allen wrench you can spray some of this into grip then quickly slide it onto bar.

I have Ergon GP3's from here on my Dahon Mariner: Amazon.com: Ergon GP3 Bicycle Handlebar Grip, Large: Sports & Outdoors
I used a knife to cut the right side grip and make it shorter for the twist-shifter. It uses an Allen Bolt to tighten, but it works well. Make sure to use a rubber mallet to bang the grip completely on the handlebar, to ensure the allen bolt-driven clamp is truly clamped on the bar completely.

I don't understand. Did the industrial revolution not happen?
Why the heck do I have to hillbilly engineer my own bicycle grips?
Grumble. Grumble.

The short grip is to accommodate a geared bicycle where the gear shifter is on the handlebars.

cut the long, short its not rocket science..
I fitted the short Ergons(GR3) on my Brompton and filled in the gap to the brake lever with handlebar tape.

Hairspray worked but with my old grips. Guess I won't have to deal with this problem again until I'm ready to replace them. Meanwhile I have a brand new pair of biologic arx with the tool set removed and knife marks on the short grip. Unbelievable.

Not trying to stir the pot but if you don't like/ don't have the patience for wrenching you could let your LBS install them.
