I have an odd tire/rim fit question.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have an odd tire/rim fit question.

So I'm shopping around for some back-up/replacement tires for my bike, but I'm faced with a weird issue: I own 700 x 26c sized rims. I have specific x26c tires, but would x25s work on my rims? It seems like I have a lot more options going with that size. It's only a one millimeter difference, but you never know with cycling equipment...

Thanks in advance!

Your tire size is 700 x 26c. Your rim size is probably 700 x 14 or so. You can use any 700c tire between 23 and 28c without issue as long as your frame has the clearance for the larger size.

Ahhh, that makes things much simpler. So my next question is what tire size to fit on my bike? Like I said, I'm running x26 right now, so would I notice a major improvement/advantage over x23s? Or is it sort of whichever I can find a better tire of?
