B&M to Alfine install

Any good instructions out there? The light doesn't come with a good manual on this. I'm kind of in the dark on how to go about wiring this up. (pun intended.)

Is the wire separate from the light? The wire with a white stripe is supposed to be hot, and blank is ground. The Shimano hubs have a ground/earth symbol on one side of the gray wire clip. Separate the wire clip into its two pieces by pressing on the tab. Strip about 3/4" of the wire, shove the blank wire through the ground side and the white striped wire through the other side. Bend the wires over onto the slotted side of the gray piece and put the black outer part back on. Put it onto the hub, should be obvious which way is going to make contact between the wires and the hub. Spin to make sure it's working and then secure the wire to the fork.

I have a B&M light and a Shimano hub and don't remember having to do anything special, just plug it into the hub.

The hub should have come with a two part plug - gray outer part and a black inner part (it lay be already attached to the hub, if so just pluck it off). You put your wires in the black part as Unterhausen notes, fold them over, and slide the gray part over until it clicks in place. Then slide that onto the male connector on the hub. Make sure your skewer is tight and ride away.

My approach, if I can't find markings, is to wire it either way. I have a 50% chance of getting it right. If it doesn't work, I reverse it.

Sheldon's site has a good write-up of the steps unterhausen gave. Here are a few photos from that site: (Click photos to go directly to his site)

The little antenna thing is the ground wire. Also, that grey stuff blocking the holes is just dielectric grease. The wires go through them, and you can add more if you flub the install or change out the wires later.
