Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Kudos, nice build! You haven't mentioned your gearing for the flat ride to work?

Bikes: It's the motor, not the bike, right?

This is Portland, so there isn't anywhere too flat, but no huge (read long) climbs.
It's a little underpowered for flats but just right for the hills I will tackle. For my ride to work in dress clothes, it's just right. Not bad for short trips around town when I'm not in a hurry.

Riser stems are also good for frames that are too small. Between that and the saddle height, this bike screams too small to me. I’m not talking way too small but 2cm too small.

its not the end of the world, but a new person shouldn’t look at this and think that it’s correct.

A frame that does not fit, is not a good thing. Having a product that is good to make products that don't fit sort of work-ish just isn't good. Get something that fits and you will be way happier with it.
