those colours are really quite something, and yes, Ronald McD would fit right in with one, they could use one in a RMcD commercial and no one would ever know it was a store bought bike, it really is quite hideous.

I do and I will tell you why. Where I agree that Wal Mart is just a level of Purgatory, my wife has a medical condition that results in fainting, among other things. I go with her everywhere to make sure she doesn't bust her ass and break something (else). Broken hip, arm, etc SO FAR.....Feel better about your smug post now, wiseguy?

stole your bike
I suppose it's not so bad for the people just doing short rides here and there, plus there isn't the hassle of dealing with poorly installed derailleurs. The last time I was at WalMart I took a look at the bikes and almost wept at how bad the assembly was on the MTBs.

Yea...when I heard about these I actually thought it was a super idea. People can get a functional bike for $100 or whatever, and there's hardly anything that can go wrong with it.
I mean I wouldn't want to ride it very far, but I'm fortunate enough to be making enough to splurge on my bikes a little. For those who ain't...what the heck. Get it and ride it. Find your local community bike fixer place and make sure it's assembled correctly though.

I went looking on Walmart's site for this bike. I'm amazed to see they carry 300+ bicycles (at least online, some of these were not sold in the stores). The Mongoose Paver shown above is still on their website, BTW. I have been tempted to buy a 29er from them just to have a disposable mountain bike and spare wheels for my cross rig.

He's studying to be a Pharmacist. After he bought it, I tried to talk him into something much better but he insists on riding this until it falls apart. Based off what I've seen in the past from Walmart bikes, he'll get a year or so out of it and then the parts to fix it will outweigh what he spent. Still, I don't blame him for buying it for $100 dollars.
@ ONU possibly? Because I have seen one sitting around and it always catches my attention.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.

Come to think of it, that's quite possible.

Although I find that fix gears aren't that hipster, it's the hipsters that ride it. A lot of people ride them cause their so easy to maintain. I saw some guy on a track bike going just as fast as a road bike.A True respectable fixed guy I would say.

When I was in Wallyworld the other day I noticed they are selling a full tilt, skinny tired road bike as well. TRIACE was the decal, I believe. 8 cog rear and a triple chainring. Both were Shimano. I didn't look for a price but it was an attractive bike.
