Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

First cyclocross bike

I've got my first cross bike on the way. I've chosen a Felt F40x, and it's currently in the LBS having a few bits swapped out and I'll go in for a fit on Wednesday, and if anything else needs to be swapped, it will be done then for pick-up on Friday when I drop the summer bike in for it's pre-winter service.
It has tiagra components, including hydraulic disc brakes, 46/36 chain rings and an 11-34 cassette on the back.
I'm swapping out the tyres for Hutchinson Overides and am going tubeless as well as having some snap on mudguards put on. It will be my winter commuter/going offroad/out with the wife and dog bike. I might even go for a bit of touring/bikepacking with it. I've opted for a cross over gravel bike as I prefer the geometry. After the fit, the handlebars will be 38mm, but will probably keep the 90mm stem.
I'm very much looking forward to picking it up next week

Picked up the new bike this morning. It's a really nice ride. Time to find some off-road gravel paths and such
