I once saw a man in a tutu riding a bike on the local MUP. Y'all are lucky I didn't get a photo. Come to think of it, maybe I'm the lucky one.

My dad got remarried when I was in Jr. High school and bought another house after living in an apartment for a few years. I decided a full sized metal trash can would be the perfect wedding/house warming present and rode to the hardware store to buy him one on my English 3 speed. The people in the hardware store were wondering how I was going to take it with me and were pretty surprised that I could ride with it (I used the shoulder strap for an army surplus bag and the rear rack for the trip) and so was my dad when I rode up to his office with it. The trip wasn't that far, but was pretty memorable for the people that saw me.

I use my trailer a lot. So, not really "on the bike".
The washing machine was actually pretty light.
There is a giant teddy bear at Goodwill... if I only knew someone who needed a giant teddy bear, it would make for a spectacular bike cargo.

Not quite sure what the frames the trailer frame was cut out of originally were. Door frames?
And, some Schwinn OCC 16" trailer wheels.
And, some moped tires purchased new (not requiring the sacrifice of a bike).
I can't imagine why you'd call it a Frankenbike.
It may well need some more major transplants sometime.

I used to be into historic fencing and where we practiced at the time was within biking distance. With a bit of creativity, bungey cords, Velcro straps, a rear rack, carabiener's and a pack I was able to carry all my gear lol. (don't worry the sword is a blunt trainer lol)

When I went on my weeklong bike tour down Hwy 1 in CA, I strapped my properfoot pump to my rear rack. A little portable pump never gets my tires inflated to the proper pressure and I was riding through areas where it could be a loonnng way to the next lbs. Fortunately, I had no flat tires. But I did lend it to another rider in Big Sur with a slow leak in his back wheel. He was mighty glad to see that big pump and easily get some air into his tire!

I guess the most ridiculous things I've taken on my bike are a few of my friends (one at a time though). Usually on the handlebar - I have found this to be the most comfortable position for an illegal passenger, have sat myself there too.
Apart from that, a sack of potatoes, a bucketful of water in one hand, I think some gardening tools like a spade or a rake have been on my bike too.

It's more about the racks. I wouldn't try that with cheap racks. Understand that I rode close to a mile. Not easy with an unbalanced, top heavy load. Have ridden further with similar loads of wood. And I cannot remember exactly how much they cost, but I remember thinking they were pretty inexpensive. This was in DE. At NJ state parks, a similar bag with fire starter is $6.
