Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fake miles will be issued later, no outside riding for me yet. The hand wringing about that has started to ensue, my wife is dead set against it, and I'm unsure myself, maybe by spring.

After Mrs. LAJ saw that truck video, I was the recipient of a Fly6 and an Apple watch, with the SOS feature..

I am indeed aware. My entire point here is I wish I had gone to school in a city I would have stayed in, because I wound up wasting a number of my years in Albany before I got out. There are only a handful of cities in this country I want to live in, so there's the list.

This is why I don’t stop. Not to mention once I unclip it takes me the rest of the ride to get clipped back in.

Had a fun “recovery” ride with my friends today. It’s a treat to ride in January with short sleeves.

Now must go help mrs datlas with latest home improvement project. It involves an old countertop and faux marble contact paper. I am ascared!!

I beg your pardon, that was intentional. Mischief.

TMS and I’m sticking with it.

Got some more real miles in the false Spring. The weather is ominous, but what can we do but enjoy it?

Speaking of greenhouse emissions, we are going to meet daughter and partner in Dublin and go from there to Cornwall for a few days. Should be fun. I booked coach class travel, while wife goes business, thereby saving the price of a very swanky wheel set. However, I don't think that's how it works.

3 TDS in 3:24? I’m reminded of the Warren Moon game.
