Hello from Portland, OR
Greetings from the overcast and perpetually drizzling Portland, where my wife, our six year old son, and myself have been living car free for a number of years.
I've recently (a couple of months ago now) switched over to a Long Haul Trucker from a series of cheap theft-discouraging beaters. One of which was stolen - in the suburbs of Beaverton of all places!
My hope is that I can start going on a few weekend+ trips by myself in the coming years until the kid is old enough to join me, so I'm slowly building up the requisite peripherals to do so. I'm sure this will involve quite a bit of my asking for advice, so I wanted to introduce myself now before I get on everyone's nerves.

Welcome ce, I admire those that can live the car free lifestyle, it's the better way health wise and certainly better for the environment. Good to have you on the forum.

I flew into (and out of) PDX a little over a year ago for some training in Gresham. The scenery up there is rather striking compared to OK.
