The main reason I got a fat bike was for a river that offered numerous paths, challenges and fun, when dry. There was water, sand, gravel and brush. The fat bike was the perfect vehicle for the terrain, then a couple years ago the perfect storm hit the area and the river saw it's worst flow in a century. Much of the forest was washed away and any paths or flat routes were eroded to holes, trenches and mounds. The sand and gravel are so soft that even off road vehicles cannot get through. I attempted a number of rides this weekend only to be left walking the bike through the worst areas. Now, I need to decide to wait it out to see if it improves or just sell mr fatttie all together.

That stinks, looks like a nice place. I bought my fat bike to ride in the forest in the winter. Turns out that 3.8" tires really aren't adequate for much of that unless I stick to roads where cars pack the snow. Nobody grooms trails here. Still a lot of fun to ride.

Circumstnces/situations may change and may favor bike riding in the future. Happened to me before after not riding my fat for quite some time. Now it's regular.
