phew. anything with those awful suicide brake extenders and stem shifters (or top tube mounted shifters??) is a BSO. that one looks like it has steel cotter pin cranks, and steel 27" rims, too, even more BSO. at most $80 cuz its clean.

Adjustment? A bit more than that. The fork is on backwards.

Anything with "FIRENZE" on the downtube is a BSDT - bicycle-shaped death trap. You only see them in this country because scads of local appliance store owners in bad checked suits GAVE them away with the purchase of a console color TV or automatic dishwasher or what-not, in the '70s and '80s. Why? Because the bikes didn't pass CPSC standards and it was illegal to sell them here (but they couldn't stop anyone from giving them away). One of the most memorable and notorious, for his, er, "colorful" commercials, was TV Lenny here in Madison; ironically he recently came out of retirement to open an E-bike store, JUST ahead of the wave.

That's gold Jerry! Gold!

Or is them fightin' words?

Nicest Bike in 4 Counties
$100

Yup you won’t find a nicer bike around. This one is in fine working condition with good tires front and rear.
Shifting mechanisms function properly through all 21 speeds. Not like your pappy’s ole janky 10 speed.
Brakes are in good working condition.
Seat is in good condition as you can see.

It does have some typical dings (see pics) and the bottle holder could use a refresh (see pic).

Optionally, you can make motorcycle noises when you ride.

Yes, a Magna Great Divide. Better than your pappy's janky ten speed.

it’s because the bike is so fast he has a tough time making it stand still for the picture.

Best short story; GO!

2 St Etienne ten speed bikes - $125 (Grove City)

Obviously bent fork on the taller frame...

and the shorter frame too!

need some tlc, but ride-able new tubes and tires on both bikes 75.00 each or 125.00 for both

bicycle frame material: aluminum
bicycle type: road
condition: good
frame size: 23"
make / manufacturer: st etienne
suspension: none (rigid)
wheel size: 27 in

Why do both bikes have bent forks?

To be fair...didn't Lemond size their frames a bit differently than most other manufacturers. If the seller actually measured the frame it might have come to 54cm.

I'm not a vintage guy or a flipper, but I think that's a beautiful frame. I balk a little at 27" wheels, but at least the rims are alloy not steel, and the brakes are sidepulls not centerpulls. Great brand new tires, but don't really vibe with the vintage feel, and at 27" you probably can't just throw them on another bike.

If you like the frame and can see yourself enjoying riding it with your DA components, then it's worth it to you.

I would go in with an offer of $300, just on principle assuming the seller has built in a CL price pad. Or maybe if you're not into the tires, offer $250 and he keeps the tires, maybe he has other 27" wheels he can use them on.

^ I'd like to hear more about this bike shop which can replace a wheel for $20. Also, I'm curious about what happened to the other two gears.

Maybe it's spread for an 8 speed rear?

I agree that the $20 dollar wheel replacement is a fairy tale. Maybe they forgot a zero?

I believe that Ross Signatures are really really nice bikes so maybe this doesn't belong here (then there is that Covid tax price of $250...)

But anyone who'd ride a tire as far as this rear tire has gone probably never did any maintenance!
Ad says "I have a 80s ross signature 294s with training stand. Everything works great but will need new tires. "

A good example of a how an honest seller can be confused as to what constitutes terms such as "excellent condition" or "ready to ride" and a dishonest seller, well....

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...86529388875454

Schwinn Paramount Series 3 PDG Bike
$250
Per ad "Size: 58 cm, ideal rider 5'9"-6'2" All original components except for seat and tires. New Continental Ultra Sport tires. Pedals can be attached for no additional charge. Rear derailleur cable is slightly frayed by shifts cleanly."

First view seems ok

"Rear derailleur cable is slightly frayed by shifts cleanly"

Small dent in top tube isn't mentioned

Cables be highly rusty

Might be an ok buy for $250 but possibly other reasons for low price (internal cables might be stuck, etc).
