4600 miles. I went to my Garmin Connect account that aggregates all my riding and racing, if recorded at all, and used those miles. That is all the effort I am willing to put into this exercise.

Except nobody asked Who Trained Harder? or Who Trained More Effectively? or Who Trained Longer?
A mileage pissing contest is exactly that: How many miles did you ride? And a mile is a unit of distance. If your bike sat in one spot in the man-cave for the entire duration of your workout, you didn't ride any miles no matter how many times or how hard you turned the pedals.
Save your bragging for the Unofficial 2018 Training Pissing Contest Thread. This thread is for people whose bikes actually move.

Riding is riding. Either measured in a virtual environment, or in my physical environment. Work is being performed, the pedals are being turned, gears are being shifted. And, when on rollers, even both wheels are moving.
So want to give justifying your nonsense another go, or are you going to accept that it simply is just nonsense?

Is coasting still riding? I mean, no work is really being done. You don't have to pedal. It's little more than steering, which is practically like driving a car or motorcycle. Should that count?
I coasted a lot last year on downhills, at intersections, in pacelines, group rides, races, etc. I bet coasting made up at least 10% of my riding last year...

What part of "mileage" aren't you understanding? Nobody asked about work being performed, nobody asked about pedals being turned, nobody asked about wheels moving.
This thread is about distance covered, as measured in miles. (Or kilometers, for our non-US friends.) That's why the title says "Mileage" not "Work"
You want to start a pissing contest thread about work/effort/crank- (or wheel-) revolutions, go ahead. You'll probably get a lot of folks here to participate.

You're really failing to ascertain a pretty simple concept, here, that "mileage" indoors and outdoors is the same and counted.
Hope that clears things up for you.

And hey, how about that challenge? If it's not the same thing and I only ride indoors while you ride outside, you should destroy me on a bike ride outdoors, right? Can you explain to me why that's not the case in reality?

Yet you can't provide a reasonable or rationale explanation as to why not.

Are you claiming otherwise? And if so, can you express why?

What if it's cold and you don't warm up?
Also, if we're going to have a fudge factor for gravel miles, how about a fudge factor for uphill miles, against the wind miles, riding on an empty stomach miles, or riding while sick/injured miles?

I'd also like a 2x multiplier for miles in which I pull my son along in a trailer. Two people moving due to one person's riding!

Per Wikipedia:
The mile is an English unit of length of linear measure equal to 5,280 feet, or 1,760 yards, and standardised as exactly 1,609.344 metres by international agreement in 1959.
Stop being obtuse. If you want a contest about virtual miles, or kilojoules produced on a bicycle shaped object, by all means start your own thread about it. That's the miracle of the internet: everyone has a voice, even you

Except, the original post of this thread did not use "miles," as you are, in quotes, it used miles. Like, actual miles.

Is that where the failure lies?
Note I listed my miles without quotations in my first response.
