Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have never liked blueberry muffins. Or blueberry anything that's cooked. Raw blueberries are divine. Once, while hitchhiking through Maine, there was nowhere to pitch the tent except on top of fruiting blueberry bushes or solid rock.

No snow here, but the temps have dropped nicely in the past few days. Highs in the mid 80s instead of the mid 90s.

I have an awesome merino wool sweater, which got used heavily on my Spring tour, and will be a welcome addition to the winter wardrobe.

I was exactly the opposite - I liked blueberries baked in to just about anything, but never cared for fresh. A few years ago, after getting some really great fresh blueberries, I came around on them and now chalk up my previous disposition to poor storage and/or non-seasonal consumption.

Also, the sound effects left me wondering if there were a lot of low-flying jets over Richmond, then I realized that the sound was supposed to simulate the cobble sections.

Kudos, let me welcome you to the world of awesome things.

All this talk of snow makes me happy to know I am a proud owner of an awesome shovel.

Rained quite a bit yesterday and changed to snow, as the temperature dropped. We got like 2 or 3 inches on our little hill, but the sun's out now. No shoveling (awesome or otherwise) needed.

I turn 55 next year. Learned today that my max HSA contribution will increase by $1K, and it's not prorated based on my birthday. Getting old does have some advantages.

I like backpack lawyers. Ms. Hill lives adjacent to my commute and I see her frequently. Last time, I thanked her for her service and her courage.

I am told Sam (that's his name) got mixed reviews from his friends about the backpack. Some said it made him look young and hip, others said it's time to lose the backpack. He works his butt off for some big name DC firm but I believe plans to clerk at the DC Circuit Court of Appeals next year.
