Something is mighty wacky about that ad. Nothing matches between photos, color, title, description, or detail summary.

Even the number of zeros in the title and body are different.

This one gave me a chuckle. Now, maybe I'm uneducated but to me this looks like a typical bike-boom, gas pipe bike. Surely not something worth $800. And notice how the black bike is just an example. The blue bike is what's for sale with the option of a full restoration at an added price.

I just can't tell from the photos. It may well be worth looking at.

It is well within the realm of possibilities to be a Giant CADEX from the late 90's. Metal lugs and carbon fiber tubes.

You should go check it out. I have a '95 CFM-2 (carbon tubes with alloy lugs and dropouts) that looks very much like it, but the guy's pix could definitely be better.

It's OK. That is a Schrader valve cap.

If it had been Presta, the Purists would have a fit!!

Actually, it would go nicely in the "are you looking" thread. That's cheap for a carbon bike that was pretty decent in its day and might be worth it for the parts alone.

^^^^ I give it a WW "honorable mention", just because the photos and text are both bad enough to make you think it's not CF. WW bonus points for no drive side pics and photographer shadow in frame (oh, and "25 inch tires").

The cable housings on my old road bike lasted for decades, until they eventually became too short because of trimming off crimped ends.

Might as well start long.

It does make one wonder about the stem. Perhaps it has a foot long stem, and the seller simply pushed it down into the fork for the photo-op.

+1; tall frame, probably a tall stem, perhaps extended much more by a previous user. Probably set up that way at the factory, to accommodate extending the stem.

That said, looks like the front cable should be routed behind the handlebar, given the forward reach of the stem.
