Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road bike options - New to cycling and these forums.

Hi guys,

This is my first time posting on this forum, and I hope that this is the right place to post this. I have been doing some research on buying a road bike, and have spoken to multiple people/hit multiple local stores about it. This will be my first road bike. I have a budget of about $600. I have posted 2 links about two bikes that I am looking into.

1. Andiamo Miele road Bike NEW! | road | City of Toronto | Kijiji
2. SPECIALIZED CARBON FRAME RACING TRI A 56 CM MED | road | Oakville / Halton Region | Kijiji

With the first link (the Miele), it contains a Shimano Alivio. I thought that this was mainly for mountain bikes? Would it be a problem in a road bike (why is it even in the package?)? Other than that, this looks like a sweet deal to me.

Thank you very much for your time,
Swarlan

For $600. you oughta be able to find something better than that. Look locally.
