Raleigh Detour 3.5 vs Trek Allant

I haven't ridden a bike since I was a child but I want to start biking around hilly Seattle. Nothing major, just 30-minute rides for errands and appointments. I've tried out a few bikes at my LBS and I think I've narrowed it down to just two: the Raleigh Detour 3.5 Women's and the Trek Allant Women's.

I love that the Allant is stylish and comes with a basket holder and fenders, but it's almost double the price of the Detour. Is there a difference quality-wise I should be aware of? Any recommendations for other sub-$600 comfort bikes would also be appreciated.

As you know the Trek comes with fenders, kickstand, rear rack, and a bell. The ride would be more upright because of the handlebars. I have the guys version and really like the more upright riding position. So might I suggest test riding both of them to see which one rides better for you?

Oh, and you might be able to find a 2011 model on sale. I bought mine for $512.00.
