Buying a new house with bike parking!
been renting for the last year and decided to buy an inexpensive house. i will now be parking the bikes inside on the enclosed front porch. the house needs some work but i got it very cheap so i can afford to do a few things.

I have a few bikes parked in my 'mudroom'. It's great and handy, but cold in the winter so lights need to come inside to keep warm.
I recall seeing those progress pictures of yours. You should post some pics of the finished work.

Still need radiators, architraves for the windows and heat gunning / scraping the doors. Skirting boards and engineered wood flooring as well.
These things take time and money.

Definitely a fixer-upper, at least on the outside. Inside looks like it's in good condition.

i am going to put bike hangers on the porch so i can have 3 bikes ready to roll depending on the weather.

Make sure you secure the bikes...Things get stolen off of porches all the time.
After 13 years of storing my bikes IN the house, this past year we bought a place with an oversized two car garage...And we only have one car. The rest of the space is for bikes, workbench, tools, futon, 'fridge...It's boss, baby.
PS: Just looked at the photo. That's a nice old bungalow. Good wood in there. Those awnings were probably not original -- pull those off and it'll really open the place up. Also, the porch was probably not originally enclosed, but that sounds like a useful addition for you. Check Sherwin-Williams for paint - they have a collection of period-correct color combos for Bungalows or Craftsman houses.

right now they are chained to a railing with a tarp that sometimes stays on them, i dont wipe em down here either. mike bikes get ridden and i service them when needed.

Honestly with a good pressure washing, the exterior would probably look about 70% better - it just looks a bit dirty, kinda like buying a bike off CL that doesn't look so good until it's cleaned up and you really notice how good a shape it's in. Congrats on the purchase!

ty, it has a few minor issues but most of it looks as cool as the front room. we are thinking a polychrome exterior in deep purple and sage. the porch has amazing room for 3 bikes and my trailer easy. 1 stall garage out back if i want to set up my bike shop in there.

I just have an entryway - Mudroom , but I can lean several bikes against each other,
helps that 2 of the 3 are folding bikes..

good luck with the house ... made some progress with ours over the weekend ... installed the vertical and horizontal column radiators ... matches the steel beams that we will leave exposed. will probably mount the bike the front of the house in a vertical position.
just in time for some more heat as it might snow here (!) for the first time since 2010/11

Sounds nice, there's a house in my neighborhood with that color scheme, and it looks very bold and snappy (I'm assuming you mean sage for the main color, and deep purple only for accents...)
