Do you now carry a face mask in your saddle bag or jersey pockets?

I have not been carrying a mask on rides since I almost always ride solo with only very brief stops, but after reading this thread, I will put one in my saddlebag.
For those of you that have not and will not carry one, whether you need it or not, wouldn’t it be nice to have one available....just in case? They aren’t heavy, take up no space and are not a political statement, unless you allow or want it to.

Have been carrying a mask the last few months and two weeks ago started wearing one during my rides as there are a few spots with a decent number of riders.

In Sun City Arizona it wasn't uncommon to see seniors wearing masks or face coverings, long before Covid-19. Some did it because they have respiratory issues, and others do it to keep the sun off their face.

I have brought one along when I plan to go to a store in the middle of the ride(ice cream stop with the family). I dont bring one on every ride though. They arent required by the state/towns where I am and most stores ask but dont require them to be worn. If I am on a ride, the only place I would go to is a gas station where its maybe 40/60 for wearing masks anyways.
I plan for a lot when cycling, but have to draw an arbitrary line somewhere. I for sure would have one if I was in an area that requires them in any/all stores.

I rode to REI yesterday to return some shirts that ive been holding onto since early when they closed stores. Since they require a mask and its an errand, I brought one. Then rode for exercise so the mask is sitting in my wedge bag.
Itll be there for the coming weeks/months since I rarely touch the bag. So i guess now I technically do carry a mask sometimes(when I ride that bike).
Im going to ride a different bike to volleyball tonight, so maybe Ill go wild and toss a mask in that wedge bag too.

I have my mask on and pull it down under my chin when i am riding. If there are other people in close vicinity, I just pull it up. Shows a bit of consideration to others, and that's not a bad thing.

[QUOTE=eduskator;21575818]No. Only food & my cellphone, as usual. If I were to go in a place where wearing mask is mandatory, I expect the merchant to provide them to their customers. If not, I'll go somewhere else.
You'll get tons of different opinions / answers though, as many of us are living outside the US and are facing a different (better if you ask me ) reality.[/QUOTe
The merchants are not responsible for providing a mask for you. Buy a box of masks for petes sakes ! Running around with oiut a mask is plain dumb. That is why the pandemic is geting worse !

Oh really? Last time I checked, my area had very few cases remaining, and everything has been under control for a little while. As I said in my initial post, we don't all live in the US of A so please don't judge others based on your reality.

Quebec has over half of the cases and deaths from covid-19 in Canada, and within Quebec, the majority are within greater Montreal. In fact, Quebec's numbers are worse than some US states. The map gives the [erroneous] impression that if you manage to get out of the US into Quebec, you're free from the virus until you get to the middle of nowhere in northern Quebec.
Good luck.

Just happened to read the following in the next thread I looked at after this one:

Really ? 100 new cases and three deaths were reported in Quebec just yesterday. You are not immune to the virus because you don't live in the USA. Our cases have been declining here also, but that doesn't mean that we can now ignore the safety guidelines. Wear your mask !

I don't want to start a debate either. Irregardles of whether the numbers are proportionally correct the fact is the pandemic is still happening. In our area of Northern California there are counties tha have almost zero cases but we are all still following the guidelines and working towards conquering this pandemic. This will be my last post on this subject and I apologize if it sounded like I was patronizing you. My intent was to encourage you to follow the guidelines along with everyone else so we can put this pandemic behind us !

I'm assuming people carry stuff like spare tubes, sealants, etc in case they have a mechanical, correct? You can't control what happens outside your front door/property. Better to have and not need, rather than need and not have.........just in case. Take a mask.

Classic.
3 pages on carrying a 2 oz face mask.
Until this thread I would have thought it impossible that an adult with a functioning frontal lobe would feel the need to ask the question.

Yes, always carry a mask these days. It's not required in our community though amazingly so as its one of the fastest growing counties with covid cases in the fastest growing state.

2 ozs.. are you serious? I think you're off by a decimal. The ones I have weigh about 5-6 grams.
