1973 Nishiki International
Pretty much stock, changed the saddle, handlebar tape, pedals. I would like to do other smaller mods, convert to aero brake levers instead of my suicide brake levers and wrapping the brake housing under the handlebar tape for a slightly cleaner look.

My Panasonic built 1973 Schwinn World Voyageur. I have a few more tids and bits to add but that's about it. I want to keep her as "natural" as possible. Added a new set of skinwalls and yellow bar wrap since these pics were taken.

Strawberry (Andy Newlands, Portland Oregon)

I recently surveyed my open projects and found seven unfinished bicycles that needed parts and attention. I resolved to finish a few to get them out of the way. The first is a Strawberry, frame built by Andy Newlands (Portland Oregon) sometime in the mid 1980s. I built it up with mixed late 1980s Campagnolo parts. Discussion of the geometry/fit follows the pictures.

And one more, at the city park this morning:

I didn't think this frame would fit me, having a 480mm c-c top tube. From what I have read, Newlands' fit philosophy favors shorter top tubes and longer stems, this is something new for me. So I set the bike up with a plumb-bob and tape measure the same way I do all of the bikes to my "known good" starting measurements. It was comfortable on the first ride, and after minor adjustments and more than two hours in the saddle, it is still comfortable. The ride is twitchy (~920mm wheelbase), there is pedal overlap, and it feels strange when climbing out-of-the-saddle (not bad, just different). This one has at least made my list of "might keep".

Beautiful frame with a great mix of parts to match.

Edit:
My Colnago has a shortish top tube and wheelbase but I've learned to like it.

Yes, cool bike for sure.

Many interesting details.

I'd love to try riding a bicycle set up with this fit, but perhaps for just a short experiment.

Sounds like you have some additional bicycle projects looming on the horizon.

Please share them with us when you get a chance.

Pinarello Montello SL

I posted this before a couple of months ago, but just 'finished' the build with some polished box section rims instead of the Open Pros I had on before. Still looking for a few misc parts (like a Dura-Ace seatpost) but mostly done!

My 69 schwinn continental, great ride tons of fun.
Since I took this picture I've replaced brake pads and cable, trued the wheels, and hammered the chainwheel fairly straight. There's some surface rust I plan to take care of this weekend and then I'll slap some clearcoat on it

The one on the left is a newly restored 83 Fuji S12 S. I changed out the cassette for a Shimano SIS 7 spd and it shifts much smoother than the old cassette. It got a set of bull horn handlebars for city riding, Brooks saddle, new tires, clipless pedals, new paint and it had all good high end alloy components otherwise. I use it as a daily commuter to work when the weather is nice and dry. I found it at the scrap yard for free. It had an ugly silver color and factory graphics and a lot of scratches. It rides beautifully and takes second place only to my plush handbuilt FC cycles that I spent so much time and money on.

The one on the right is an original condition 77 Raleigh Grand Prix 10 spd that I have had for years but do not ride. I don't like the gearing and the frame geometry is not comfortable. I have not done any work on it as all is in good shape.

My Razesa all tore down

Actually have this for sale on CL locally. No bites. Lots of scratches but still a solid bike, cut out BB etc. You don't see very many of these. I haven't ridden this one in about 5 years.

Raleigh Professional

Another project completed to rideable state, early 1970s Raleigh Professional. Not all C&V correct, but I like it. Drivetrain came from my now-retired 1979 Trek 930. I did not ride it on the road yet (still sick today), but it is ready to go for tomorrow if I feel better. If it works out, I have a clamp-on water bottle cage and a handlebar bag to add to it.

I got it laced right!

Two other projects complete this weekend that I will not show here: my 1989 Schwinn LeTour, rebuilt for winter duty; and the Y2k era Free Agent Betty BMX/MTB thing. Three to go now, but those are a family so I will wait until they are all ready and post them together.

Got this frame recently off of another forum & built it up with all Ultegra and a titanium Flite saddle recovered by Jason Moore at Recovered Saddles. SLX with a respray by Al Wanta.
My first encounter with Roland's work, must say I'm very impressed!
