2 different length cranks

2 different length cranks
I purchased a SRAM red crankset on FB marketplace and I received it in the mail today. The problem is the crank arms are 2 different lengths, drive side is a 170 and other side is a 172.5 (which was the stated length). My question is can I make this work or will it cause me some problems with a proper fit? Should I just send back for a refund or attempt to make it work?

Maybe the former rider had one leg shorter than the other. Or maybe he damaged the non-drive side and replaced it with one of different length because that's all he had... and figured you wouldn't notice.

I would send it back unless the seller was clear they were different lengths. I would NOT ride those unless your fitter has suggested that will solve problems for you otherwise it is bound to create problems and certainly some odd pain.

I bought an 80's Raleigh at the Denver bike swap many years ago. It had a 170 on one side and 165 arm on the other. I rode it for months without noticing the difference during a good cleaning. I 'm not necessarily recommending that you ride it, but I'd bet you wouldn't notice the difference unless you are a major racer. BTW, I replaced the mismatch on my Raleigh.

If you were to lie flat on your back and stretch your legs out straight in front of you, could you tell which foot was stretched out 2.5 mm more than the other?

Due to a leg length discrepancy, I usually run one crank 5mm shorter than the other. Sometime I end up running them the same length until I get around to correcting it, or I am borrowing a bike.
In my experience, I do notice the 5mm difference when I switch, but it is slight. I do not think a 2.5mm difference would be noticeable.
But I would return it anyway.
