Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I only recently got a HRM that will connect to my phone so all of my MTB rides have been without that data until now.

Our local park opened up today and I got to ride about an hour of dirt, and I'd say the HRM data matches what it feels like

Yeesh - if I had a ride with an average hr of 166... Well, it'd be a short ride, because that's higher than my LTHR.

I was ready to be done for sure, but that ride felt like a pretty regular effort on the MTB. It's a singlespeed so I'm working a bit harder than with a derailleur but not too bad.

My heart rate (as well as my father's) has always been pretty high, and that 190bpm isn't just what I have set as my max for zone settings - I actually hit that tonight.

How I'm still awake right now is beyond me.

Freezing cold and blowing dogs off chains = third day of fake miles.

Boat is in the water, but not in the slip because of work on the dock and our guys somehow forgot to do the bottom work we ordered in January. I hope they’ll pay for the extra work our diver is going to have to do over the season to keep it clean! It’ll be cheaper than hauling out again.

Yeah it felt like winter this morning and tomorrow will be colder. We are going to delay the start of our ride until 9AM so at least it should be above freezing.

Tomorrow is my boat spring cleaning day. I'm ready to get out on it.

Just a Bontrager BLE/ANT+ chest strap.

Nothing looked out of the ordinary - I've had artifacts using this strap before but they're usually spikes at 220-240BPM.

If you tend to trust Intervals rather than Strava

Does look like a reasonable distribution. I like raw data, though.

I know a guy that had occasional spikes in the 220-240 range. it didn't work out well for him.

I really like the design architecture of your house. Actually reminds me a lot of the houses in this neighborhood.

Board and batten vinyl looks really nice. A couple of my neighbors have it and their homes look great. It’s what we will replace our T-111 with in a few years.

Mrs. Phrantic has no impact from shot 2. She ran 6.5 miles this AM and is now cleaning the house.

Keep in mind, she’s an animal and could be feeling like crap and lying to me. But I can confirm no temperature.

Velo Vol will be happy to know that the Great state of Georgia prevailed in defending itself against the Florida water grab. A 9-0 decision.

The B & B is too rustic for our house, but the chamfer board would definitely work!
