Lol my work is silly, I have to wear a mask and helmet when on site, so right before I get there I take my mask and helmet out of my milk crate and put them on. Then once I get past security and to my building, I air dry for a minute or two then put my shirt on and walk in. I work at a national lab run by the DOE.

edit: oops tried to respond to someone

This doesn't make any sense.

Does anyone want to hear the gospel of bike fit according to me ?

I have been run into by too many unannounced commuters riding too close to my wheel for their skill level. So no. On my way to work, I would slow down until you felt compelled to pass. I can trackstand for a while.

For you amateur sleuths that think the OP is someone else you know, you are wrong once again. Thanks for playing.

no free rides. if you're gonna draft, be ready to do your part.

oh, and we need to see pics of this milk-crate-copper-tubing setup. You don't worry about someone stealing the copper while you're at work?

If people want to draft, I’m cool with it, but they need to run 18 to 20, so its usually more experienced guys. *Then there are those that blow by me doing 24. I did club rides for many years and am used to drafting and leading. Typically if the guy screws up behind me and touches my wheel, he’s (or she’s) the one who crashes. I always help them out with hand signals if they Jump on. Met lots of good people and shared many conversations with people I have met on the road or MUP.

When I bike commuted and was tired and drafted, would always ask to draft and thank them when one of us peeled off.

Just ask. "Hey, do you mind if I sit in?" Don't be surprised or hurt if the answer is no.

Drafting has its + & - , however, I often wonder if the - is thought about when in the moment ready to draft. Example: You work your ninja moves to stealthily draft someone. That person has no clue you're there & you have no clue what they ate prior to riding. So as the adrenaline kicks up the watts for both riders, the leading rider has a tacobell false alarm; producing the most horrid flatulence ever expelled & the drafter's need for mass oxygen takes place, while also receiving the spent lunch stench from the lead rider. Nearly avoiding an insta-vomit event, the drafting continues. Just as they roll up to a decent climb, the lead rider fires a snot rocket in preparation of making it up the steep grade. The turbulence wicks the rocket around & back, smack dab on the forehead of the drafter. Hoping it was a june bug, the drafter realizes that the cold April weather is not ideal for such insects & drops back as they've come to accept that they'd rather earn the ride & enjoy the scenery.

I did feel bad a couple months back. I rolled by some chick. She hopped my wheel and stayed there for a while and even chatted some but fell off on a short hill. I just kept my pace and rolled away. Later I saw on Strava that she did a 90 mile ride with a plan of 100 but she started struggling so she cut it short. Had I known she had about 85 when we crossed paths, I would have slowed half a step to help her out with the hundy!

I'm fat but my ride is only 7 miles, so Im faster than the serious cyclists out for long rides. I haven't been dropped on my commute yet, someone who can sustain 20 mph would do it but they might kill me when I try to chase them lmao https://www.******.com/r/bicycling/c...er_work_today/
