Find a home for the Frisco dome?
Just found out that the Community College District has given notice to the City of Frisco (they run the Frisco Velodrome, it sits on land owned by the CCD) will not be renewing their lease.
If folks are involved in planning out a velodrome somewhere, this might drop the initial cost of building quite a bit...to the best of my knowledge the substructure could be taken apart and moved.
Sad to see that track going away.

This is a blow to the gut as its only 180 miles down the road from me --- I'm hoping it can stay in the greater DFW area somehow ---- I cant in good conscience say that my hometown would be a good home for it , although selfishly having a 'drome in Oklahoma City would be awesome . (3 people riding per week probably wouldn't be economically viable - LOL )
The Community College has been wanting that land to provide more parking for the school for some time now

They must be serious. It looks like their web site has already been taken down.
Anyone know any specifics about the track?
I'll try calling the contact number tomorrow.
FWIW, the Delaware project has stalled on someone's desk at the state level. Thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey.

Still fighting this to the bitter end
Not a bad turnout for a Christmas season open ride day --- the mood was a bit somber to be sure -- lots of great folks came out --- Racers, hobbyists and exercise enthusiasts alike were all well represented
This 'ol girl is gonna need new boards regardless of the outcome before it can be used again for anything national level ---- but we'll cross that bridge when we get there
Having one more open ride day on December 30th --------- I wouldn't call it a training day per se' , but a day of fellowship and getting in a few more laps --
But if anyone in my very small sphere of influence and reasonable driving distance can make it out to show some support and work up a sweat ---- come on ------ strength in numbers
