Looking to buy Miyata

Hey, I am in the market for a vintage Miyata road bike. I came across a 1985 Miyata Pro equipped with Shimano 105 and also a 1987 Miyata 712 competition. I believe both are triple butted, correct me if I am wrong. The Miyata 712 has the brake cable running thru the top tube for aero reasons I assume. I hear they can sometimes have cracks near the cable openings. Which would you recommend? Would be used for some light commuting but more so fitness.

I had a pro Miyata about that year. It had Shimano 600.

Very stiff ride, & I don't think it would take more than 25mm tires, & old school gearing.

I would look at which fits best. Then which has components in the best condition.
Both are nice starting points and cosmetic plus mechanical conditions vary greatly after 35 years.
