My trike's a babe magnet!

I love my trike. It's given me a lot of riding pleasure. But I've found something else. Woman, young, old and in between want to talk to me. Not only do they ask the usual 50 or so questions, they ask for help with their bikes, tell me where they live, and are concerned that I don't get dehydrated, etc.
I'm a happily married guy, but it sure makes me wonder what would've happened many years ago before I got married.
Or maybe it's that I look helpful and sincere.
Nah, It's gotta be the trike.

I had the same effect when my trike worked. I figured: 1; I was not towering over them (5'11"), 2; They could instantly see that they would not get hurt if they tried it, 3; It is obvious to most that you are more approachable.

The wierdest effect is when you get to a stop light and the cross traffic does not move because they want to see you go first. Mind you that was when I had a full fairing on it.

Those women are all over me. "What big husky legs you have. Can I touch them?", "That's a nice bike, will you take me for a ride?", "That reclining position sure looks comfortable."

I could go on and on...

Camaro? You've got to be kidding.

It's a Smokey and the Bandit Firebird (With flaming full hood bird decal) or nothing!

I had a female motorcycle cop (probably 15 years younger than me) hit on me twice on my recumbent.

(Of course, I kept her at a distance, not wanting to intimidate her with my overwhelming manliness. )

I've had women come up and talk to me when I'm on the bent that I'm sure wouldn't give me the time of day in street clothes anywhere else. I too am very happily married. But I do kind of wish I'd had this bike 15 years ago when I was single.

Don't forget, it's like fishing with a net. The bent not only attracts the ones you want, it attracts everyone and his cousin, and you'll get lots of practice explaining to total strangers what that strange thing you're riding is.

You are so correct. On a DF I am invisible. But on my bent, every single person looks and smiles. Little kids go ooh ooh Mom, look at that cool bike. I haven't stopped to talk yet (3 months on a bent here), but as I'm going by I've had women give me those eyes and say "I like that" hehehe.

Since we're on the subject, if you're cruising by when she notices, what excuse do you have to stop? I normally don't creep along. It would be obvious I'm stopping for her.

This w/e I plan on taking the bent on the back of the Jeep and going for a long ride up and down the road along the beach in Ft. Lauderdale. This will be my first time with the bent.

My advice, don't stop to talk. Stop at a place you want to and then talk. It looks much more natural. So what if you stop almost every block. Who's gonna know.

Yeah, but I can throw back the fish I don't want, right?

I just got divorced. Maybe I should get a bent.

World Tour

there is an Aussie gent who rides a bent on A1A beach front ocassionally, he sometimes stops at the St Barts coffee shop, but I have seen others riding past, that coffee shop is a magnet for an "eclectic" group of folks, on A1a under the Zoo health club
