Industry Nine hub freewheel issue or normal?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Industry Nine hub freewheel issue or normal?

hi

i just bought a pair of reynolds aero 65 demo's with industry 9 hubs.

when i have the bike on the stand and spin hard and let go of the crank will still rotate foward slightly, if i spin backwards the freewheel seems slightly tight compared to what im used to....is this normal?

some clanking now also!!!

Yup, close tolerances, it will loosen up with use.

No worries. Awesome hubs, wish I hadn’t sold my I9 TL25’s a few years ago!

Keep an eye on it. My ex bought a pair several years ago. One of the hubs was sticky and never loosened up. As mentioned, tight tolerances, but this one was off enough that part of it had to be replaced.

Mine were that way initially and loosened up . Love my i25 TL Classics.

Not sure what that clanking is, but pitchwise does not sound like its coming from the hub? Hard to tell...

Sounds the the derailleur is a little out of adjustment and the chain wants to jump.

They can be tight. As mentioned. If they don't break in fairly quickly (300-500 miles or so) then get them serviced/replaced.
