Whats this bike? Never heard of it. Are their any parts worth saving from this frame? I suspect Vintage shimano tourney isnt worth much and the frame isnt worth saving. Thoughts?

Though it sounds harsh, I, pretty much agree. However, a fellow forum member, with a similar identification, my be interested in that old head badge. That said, the hubs are high flange and might be worth considering. Both are quick release, are they not?

Star was reportedly the house brand for a Minnesota company with most being sourced from Miyata of Japan. With the exception of the upright bar conversion, the subject bicycle looks a lot like a rebranded, mid-1970s, Miyata DX-S Deluxe Road Racer, in which case the frame is butted, hi-tensile tubing. The serial number will confirm if it is Miyata manufacture and the year. In it's day, this was well built model, on the verge of mid-range. The one thing holding it back from achieving mid-range status are the steel rims. Unfortunately, this one has rust issues and would be considered fair condition, at best. Components are decent for the era but while not entry level, are also nothing special.

At least the frame is white so you wouldn't have to paint the whole thing before leaving it on a corner.
