mostly listen to podcasts for steady state and LSD efforts, and lately been preferring hiphop for intervals, as the tempo (high 80s to low 90s) is where i'm aiming for cadence, which keeps me smooth.

For riding I've been listening to lots of new deep house tracks. Got a few DJ gigs coming up and I find it a great way to get to know new material because everything plays all the way through uninterrupted.

I have a chance to see Hank III within a week up here in NorCal. Still on the fence about it as I'm not much of a country guy, although I do enjoy listening to old Hank I, Merle Haggard and "My hair isn't long enough to cover up my redneck" if I'm out at the bar.

Playing atm: John Scofield - Jeep on 35

I saw Hank a few yrs back. He put on a good show. I like old (real) country, and he sounds just like his grandpa.

Yes, although not all that often. I am required to know a lot of pop music for some gigs.

of course someone with your internet handle would appreciate Monk. "in walked bud" and "straight no chaser" used to be my favorite, but lately i've really gotten into "round midnight." the first few notes are just something

not sure if this is directed at a specific poster, but i happen to get a healthy dose of old jay-z and nas when doing higher intensity stuff. when doing neither, i like simon & garfunkel & the rolling stones

I don't care enough to talk about my dreams and I haven't read a non-academic book in a while, so I'm not starting those threads.

My english class had like 20 books last semester, so I got a nice amount of reading done. I'm hoping to have some time to read while working a day job from next year on.

I might also say...

The music that goes on in my head is pretty much non-stop. I can go for many days without listening to anything. Of course, since I practice every day, I suppose I am listening to that.

The last time I drove from CA to NY I didn't bother to turn on the radio.

Oh cool. I live in middletown and go by right near there on my drive home to PA.

Do you listen to explosions in the sky? I think you'd like them. Russian circles is very similar to them (i checked some stuff out).

serious mental fortitude there; kudos. personally, i'd prefer a bottle of whiskey and a handgun to dead silence while driving (and no, i would never drive drunk, the above imagination would take place in a rest stop)

Nice! You can play that thing pretty well! I used to play trombone in high school and got okay at it (studied but didn't complete Grade 4 Conservatory) but never pursued it after. Still have a horn but haven't touched it in like 10 years.

I actually have a music blog that some of you might like. I haven't put up any new records or mixes up for a while but there's some pretty great jazz and soul LP's and mixes already up there.

https://daytimelovers.com

And just in case anybody is concerned, all the LP's posted are deleted or out of print so rest easy that I'm not stealing anybody's meal ticket.
