From last week's "Family Guy". Recumbent folks call this "Aerobelly'.

And don't forget that Marge Simpson had a fling with a swingin', recumbent-riding, college professor before she met Homer:

True story: a few months before I arrived in the Portland area, an elderly man attended a couple Oregon Human Powered Vehicle meetings. Unfortunately he was ailing and passed away in March of 1996 so I never met him when I joined the club.

His name was Homer Groening- Matt's dad and namesake of Homer Simpson. I wish I had gotten to know him. He sounds like a neat person.…

I apologize if this has already been posted, but I haven't read all 15 (excellent!) pages yet (I will). This is a clip from an animated movie (aka "cartoon"?) called the Triplets of Belleville. It definitely has creepy crazy cycling characters. This is a clip, I think I saw the whole movie on YouTube.

The Forties
(My father had done business with Chester G., as such and myself a youngster had met him on a few occasions. Backyard and trail had tombstones of Tracy's villains.)

From the series Bicycle Thieves late 1940 to early 1941

Something less innocent late 1940s-

Great suggestion! I've yet to see it, but for the clips. Really looks fun, retro, dark and loaded with characters. Noted its also available on Prime (rent).

Description:Triplets of Belleville
Madame Souza’s grandson, a Tour de France racer, is kidnapped and held hostage by the French mafia. With the help of three elderly singers, she embarks on a mission to save him. This quirky, French animated comedy—a must-see for animation fans who love cycling—was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003.

I love the depiction of the cyclist and the way he trains and the how his grandmother helps him train. The whole movie used to be on Youtube which is where I saw it years ago.
